Earth’s satellite, however, was starting to sound a lot less romantic. “The moon looks like a battlefield. It’s ugly!” Anders said as he pointed to pictures of it in his study. “It was nothing but holes and holes upon holes, and after three orbits I thought there’s nothing new to see, it’s boring! And when we saw the Earth on our fourth orbit, I thought, Wow! That’s more important in a sense than the moon.”
